3 White Tees for Right Now - Menswear Edit
Before you start adding clothes to your collection, especially the basics, we need to talk about removing the unkempt articles that have already seen their best day. Ditch those distressed, stained white t-shirts that may not be all that “white” anymore, the ones with tiny (or large) holes in random spots, or any that have pilling build-up in friction-focused areas. Thanks to the appeal of Carmy in the hot TV series “The Bear,” and the ensuing articles that have popped up about men’s necklines, now is the time to shed those sad and saggy necklines.
Eliminating is the first step, now, step two is to decide which white tee to add to your closet?
There are millions (well, maybe thousands but it sure feels like there is an infinite abundance of this staple) out there, and at the end of the day, the t-shirt needs to be right for you. I’ve tried many white t-shirts on, and shopped endlessly for my 6’6” tall husband who doesn’t exactly fit in “off-the-rack.” I have found these few womenswear and menswear styles that I, my clients, and friends all swear by.

Shop this in a set of 2 so you always have a backup when the laundry is running. Throw on an unbutton shirt and some easy chinos to wear this tee for a casual night out.

Full slub cotton which means it has a subtle motif to the threading. It’s not sheer, but definitely the most lightweight of these three tees.
This easy, effortless v-neck, perfect as a solo top with easy chinos or jeans and an elevated sneaker. I wouldn’t recommend wearing this as an undershirt due to the slub cotton (you’d want something more solid).

These t-shirts are all cotton or cotton-blends, therefore, avoid putting them in the dryer. Wash on a cool setting with other white items. Avoid other “light” colored laundry, as sometimes a light color can accidentally transfer to the white tee creating a whole new color! For preserving and avoiding spotting/stains, use stain remover in underarm areas or new spots. Treat with the stain tool for about 10-minutes prior to washing.
