2023 Couture Council Award for Artistry in Fashion with Gabriela Hearst & Fashionphile

Gabriela Hearst receiving the FIT’s Couture Council Award at Lincoln Center in New York City

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating Gabriela Hearst, founder and creative director of her eponymous brand and Chloé, being recognized by The Museum at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) with the 2023 Couture Council Award for Artistry in Fashion in New York City.

When accepting her award, Gabriela shared, “If anyone has ever done anything great, you know it’s always done with other people, with a team.” It surely does take a village. What Gabriela and her teams are doing for sustainability in fashion is what we need in the industry. It’s no perfect model, but it’s movement in the right direction.

FIT’s Valerie Steele led the program for the luncheon, introducing Dana Thomas, Maria Sharapova, and Daniel Humm, all who gave personal remarks about Gabriela Hearst.

Thank’s to Fashionphile, including Angela Dotson and Sarah Davis, for hosting LKS.
