Meet Monbouquette Jewelry
The emerging fine jewelry brand, headquartered in Santa Monica, California, with the patented design features (drop and hatch function) allows for wearability all day into any evening occasion. One earring, two ways! I recently chatted with co-founders and mother-daughter business partners Jenny and Lily Monbouquette.
Monbouquette launched in Fall 2019 after years of Jenny designing rings for friends, and Lily identified an opportunity and space in the market to launch more designs under their eponymous brand. The brand started out with earrings and then into necklaces, and most recently, rings! The assortment consists of thoughtfully designed pieces made of 23.4k carat gold plating, sustainably farmed freshwater pearls, recycled sterling silver, white diamonds, and the latest arrival of colorful gemstones.

Behind the Designs
Jenny and Lily are constantly pulling inspiration from all that surrounds their lifestyle, most significantly from artwork, iconic moments, and experiences that may seem mundane to some, yet monumental to Monbouquette.
Earrings mood board, provided by Monbouquette:
-Art informs all of our designs - the female form, movement, suspension. Ruth Asawa's undulating, organic, female forms are a standout and frequent reference.
-Barbara Hepworth's similar organic forms (to Asawa) appear often in our mood boards. Her use of suspension with intricate wire served as inspiration for the pearl suspended between the 6 delicate chains in our signature Hatch designs.
The Pillbox mood board, provided by Monbouquette:
-This ring is the namesake of Jackie Kennedy Onassis. She is the OG style icon of the White House and introduced the now famous Halston Pillbox hat, to which the new ring shapes reference.
-The colorful pattern of stones nod to an art piece we love by Olafur Eliasson. You could say “we tip our hat” to his spectacular use of color.
-Every purchase of this ring contributes toward a donation on behalf of our brand to Planned Parenthood. The Pillbox Ring is our glittery tribute with its ability to hold that most liberating pill for female empowerment. Simply pop the lid open and place inside that tiniest of sacred pills...or perhaps you would prefer to hide a little secret mantra note for yourself or a lucky four leaf clover - you decide!
