“Love yourself. You are here for such a short time… learn, love, laugh and at least like/love the person staring back at you in the mirror.”

My personal style is Jackie O in biker boots.

The best pieces of fashion armor in my closet are my trusty Ann Demeulemeester boots, an embellished frock, multiple black leather jackets and anything with a bow or ruffle!

I’m making my mark by trying to raise a respectful citizen of the world ( my 14 year old son) and teaching him the art of humility.

A professional/personal challenge that keeps me up at night… I sleep well, but when I have a new challenge, I get excited and brainstorm until the wee hours of the morning.

In moments of self-doubt I build myself back up by looking in the mirror and telling myself that I CAN DO IT! A massage also gets me centered. I have a standing appointment every week. It’s important to relax and put things into perspective. It’s all relative.

Words of wisdom that resonate with me are to be nice. My friend and mentor, Fern Mallis, said this many years ago, and it stuck with me. Fashion can be fleeting, fickle and fussy, but if you are nice, people will want to help you and work with you. It’s a mantra for me now.

I stay true to my passions by traveling - it centers me, allows me to discover and explore new cultures and use my foreign language skills. I like a challenge and don’t mind being pushed out of my comfort zone… that’s when you grow.

I’m most proud of  my family and my many lives… from art historian, to opera singer to fashionista, they have all shaped me and prepared me for the life and work I am living now.

The one thing I would like to say to every woman in the world is something I should say to myself more often… Love yourself. You are here for such a short time… learn, love, laugh and at least like/love the person staring back at you in the mirror.
