“Writing can be a lonely profession. I am fortunate to run with a small wolf pack of women who never fail to keep me motivated, calm me down and make me laugh.”

My personal style streamlined.

The best piece(s) of fashion armor in my closet are Hermès scarves. Most of my clothes are quite simple, so I like punch things up with a beautiful, brightly colored scarf.

I’m making my mark by writing novels with strong, smart female protagonists.

A professional/personal challenge that keeps me up at night is striking the right balance between time spent writing and time spent with my children.

In moments of self-doubt I build myself back up  by chatting with other writers. Writing can be a lonely profession. I am fortunate to run with a small wolf pack of women who never fail to keep me motivated, calm me down and make me laugh.

Words of wisdom that resonate with me are "Carpe diem." My father used to say that to me every morning when I was a child. It drove me crazy back then, but I realize now that my father embodied that war cry. He lived every day of his life with incredible enthusiasm, gratitude and tenacity. I aspire to do the same.

I stay true to my passions by saying no to most social obligations. The older I get, the better I’ve become at streamlining my calendar so I can focus on what really matters to me: my family and my work.

I’m most proud of how kind my children are. I tell them every day that the most important thing one can be is kind.

The one thing I would like to say to every woman in the world is Lift other women up however you can.

It only seemed appropriate to share my review of Cristina Alger’s new book, The Bankers Wife, as a way to introduce her as July’s CANDID profile. “Cristina leads the reader through a series of events from the vantage point of characters intertwined lives. The fast-paced and thrilling read had my eyes and imagination glued to the pages. Her words took me to a place that I could see and feel so intently as I began to build my own case against the antagonists. This book is well written, with an intriguing storyline that kept me entranced until I finished.”

Cristina and I met six years ago in the midst of her wedding planning process. The floral and creative firm I was working for in NYC had the pleasure of collaborating on the design of her precious day. Her brilliance, grace and ingenious writing are entirely captivating.
